This page contains a proposed list of applications and tools to be included on the Raspberry Pi disc image. It also currently covers documentation, on the basis that it may be included electronically on the disc.

1 Licence Type to specify GPL/closed source, etc. Compressed source size (KiB) (where applicable) may be useful to know in connection with capacity limitations. Licence Contact made for status of whether author(s) have been contacted to request inclusion. Licence Cleared is the final outcome (hopefully Yes, possibly with conditions) – it is expected that a minimum requirement will be official email correspondence with ROOL. ‘By licence’ indicates the current licence means we don’t need to ask permission for distribution, though it’s always good to check with authors as a courtesy.
2 If the user finds the software particularly useful, they are welcome to send the author(s) a monetary donation.
3 Ghostscript licence appears ambiguous. !ReadMe states GPL but 8_54.Doc.COPYING states AFPL. Ghostscript, Ghostview and GSview has two licences for v.8.54: AFPL (2006-05-17), GPL (2006-06-02).
